Homefront Interiors was conceived as a destination shop for artisanal homewares. It’s key focus is on sourcing sustainable, ethical and handmade products from makers, based both locally and from around the world. Stocking a wide range of items including handmade ceramics, textiles, baskets, eclectic room décor and limited edition art prints the boutique has become a popular spot for locals to find those all-important finishing touches for the home as well as thoughtful gifts for friends and family.
Margaret’s Buildings is one of Bath’s loveliest spots, a little haven of independent shops and cafes along a peaceful pedestrian street. For business owner Vanessa, it was love at first sight – the perfect place to realise her dream of creating an interior design shop full of beautiful vintage and contemporary homewares and artworks.
Everything in the shop follows our ethos of sustainability, whether that means recycled materials, fairtrade origins, small-scale handmade production, or simply showing a little love and care to vintage finds rather than replacing them with something new. Vanessa is a self-confessed addict to the pot-luck thrill of flea markets, junk shops and auctions, where you never know quite what wonderful treasures and unexpected inspirations you might unearth, and personally curates the gorgeously eclectic selection of items on sale. It’s not just about the old, though – at Homefront we love the juxtaposition of vintage and contemporary styles, and stock exquisite handmade work from a number of local artists, including ceramics, textiles and jewellery.
We are situated on a beautiful pedestrianised street a stone’s throw from the historic Royal Crescent.
